Across Conferences in Cologne Break Attendance Records

Karlsbad. Once a year, Across-Systems GmbH invites customers and others who are interested in its translation management system for two large conferences in Cologne, Germany. This year, both the LSP Day for translation service providers on March 7 as well as the Across user conference for industrial enterprises on March 8 attracted more visitors than ever. The rich, interesting agenda was doubtlessly one of the main reasons for the high attendance numbers.

At the Across LSP Day, which was held in English, CEOs, executives, and CAT tool experts of translation companies from 20 countries came together to engage in exchange and networking. The more than 150 participants of the Across user conference mainly comprised representatives of industrial enterprises who are responsible for technical documentation, translation management, marketing, e-commerce, or IT.

Interesting Agenda

Both conference days started with a highlight: The participants enjoyed an exclusive sneak peek of the new version of the Across Language Server. Processes and workflows are key aspects of the upcoming v7. Further optimizations are planned in the fields of data exchange and quality assurance. Users are also looking forward to the upcoming extensions in the field of machine translation, which will be introduced in the new version that is to be launched in October 2018. "We continue to develop our software solutions in close collaboration with three advisory boards and—since the beginning of the year—our user group. Thus, version 7 will include a lot of customer feedback", says Gerd Janiszewski, CEO of Across Systems GmbH. "Going by the initial positive reactions, our planned new features are pointing in the right direction. In addition to new features, we will of course also continue to focus on the performance, usability, and stability."

Other agenda items included presentations on topics such as translation risks, the Across roll-out in companies, and exciting application reports of Across customers. Technophile users enjoyed the separate technology sessions on the Across Language Server.

For the first time this year, partner companies cooperated in drawing up the agenda. KantanMT, SYSTRAN, and MittagQI introduced their solutions in separate partner sessions. In the exhibition area, these partners and, from the second day, Plunet showcased their offerings to the visitors.

Networking Opportunities

Apart from expanding their technology know-how and gaining impulses for their work, the participants also benefited from the exchange of knowledge and experience at the Across conferences. Across Systems provided numerous networking opportunities between the agenda items and during the boat tour on the Rhine River. The participants had a lot of fun at the drum session after the lunch break under the motto "Teamwork Sounds Better".
